The Man at the Crossroads
It's been a while, sorry for not writing for ages.

So I was walking home from the station the other day, and had stopped in the supermarket along the way to get some bits and pieces. The sod at the counter gave me like £9 in change. This is actually going somewhere, bear with me. So I'm walking up the road with all this change jangling around in my pocket, and as I reached the crossroads at the High Street, somebody called out to me.

Perplexed, I turned around and saw a... well, I can't put this diplomatically, but I saw a tramp there. He came up to me and asked for 30p so he could get something to eat. Now, I know you can't buy anything with 30p. Anyway, he could barely speak... and I don't think it was alcohol-related, because I couldn't smell it like you normally can.

Anypoo, I digged into my pocket and took out, what I thought, was two £1 coins. He kind of looked at them and was slurred "Two quid, great thanks", but then I realised I had given him two £2 coins... not that it really mattered. I was just like, oh well, whatever. So I started walking away and then he called after me, here's what transpired:

Man: What's this you've given me?
Me: Excuse me?
Man: Why did you give me that for?
Me: ... I don't know.
Man: I could destroy you
Me: You could what?
Man: I could destroy you!

At this point I was starting to get a bit worried. I mean, it was light, there were plenty of cars going by, and we were standing in plain sight of just about everybody who passed, but I had no idea where this was going, or what he meant... was he really saying "destroy" me? I couldn't tell because his speech was so slurred. Anyway, he then told me to wait whilst he lit his joint (tried about four different lighters before finding one that worked). He then said that he needed brain surgery... and then gave me one of the coins back. It's like, what the hell was that about? Did he feel insulted I gave him so much? I mean, it was by accident, but whatever. He seemed far too out of it to be insulted, but who can tell.

Anyway, it was intense to say the least.
